Premiership Champions Rangers F.C are looking for more thrust in the midfield for new challenges. The star manager of Rangers, Steven Gerrard was keen on the Nigerian midfielder of Turkish club Fenerbahce last season, Bright Osayi-Samuel. The 23-year-old joined the Istanbul side in the mid-season transfer window from the English Championship side Queens Park Rangers F.C.
The latest transfer rumours suggest that the player is not liking the Super Lig mood and is presently exploring a scope for a return to the UK. According to the reports of outlet Fotospor, the player was interested to join one of the Old Firms. The interest from Rangers aligned with the liking of the player and Gers proposed a deal for to Fenerbahce for Bright Osayi-Samuel.
Update from Glasgowlive reports a failure in the operation of Gers as the €3million bid has been turned down by the Turkish club. Fenerbahce’s negotiation demanded €4 million for the player and the teams are at an impasse for the moment.
The last full season at QPR was an impressive one for Bright Osayi-Samuel. He bagged 13 goals and 13 assists from 115 competitions at Loftus Road (Transfermarkt). He was a celebrated youngster in England and the move to Turkey was aimed at opening up new challenges for him.
The competition pace is different in Turkish Super Lig and he struggled to keep his position in the lineup under Emre Belözoğlu. He failed to score at Fener in his 15 league appearances. Although, the transfer rumours were suggesting a summer move for the player, his current contract runs till 2025 and a move to persuade the Turkish club into selling Bright Osayi-Samuel won’t come cheap.
Cross Town interest in the player :
As per the reports, Glasgow rivals Celtic are also retaining a silent interest in the Nigerian and are monitoring the situation. However, the current forward line of the Hoops is working fine as of now and unless one of their present midfielders is shipped off, club intends to focus on strengthening other areas of the squad before adding to their midfield.

Rangers were upgrading their ambitions for next season as the Champions League group stages are up for grabs for them, for the first time since 2010. Although, the summer transfer window presents the ideal time to determine the purpose and tactical change for next seasons game plan for Steven Gerrard. Midfield is one of the primary concern for Gers and they are targeting the additions in no.6 and no.8 position.
Speaking on Rangers target Bright Osayi-Samuel, EFL pundit Don Goodman acknowledged the potential of the player.

Former Blackpool youngster can serve as the possible replacement when Romanian midfielder Ianis Hagi consider a move this summer. Rumours were discussing the exit of Hagi even he holds a contract till 2024.
