Premier League side Brighton who where previously reported to be one of the two clubs majorly interested Celtic ace Odsonne Edouard this summer, have now tabled an official bid of €25m (£21.4m) to secure the services of the 23-year-old.
Frenchman Odsonne Edouard was widely expected to join Leicester City this summer, but a move broke down and now Brighton seem to be the most likely destination this summer.
The Frenchmen has been a major prospect for Celtic in the attacking front, since his arrival in 2018. 23-year-old is presently under contract with the Glasgow giants which is said to expire next summer. This has led to clubs like Brighton, Crystal Palace and even West Ham making enquires for the player.
According to recent report via SportItalia journalist Rudy Galetti, Brighton have made their first move in the Odsonne Edouard deal. They are expecting that their opening bid of £21.4m will be enough to convince Celtic to part ways with their highly rated striker. The 23-year-old defender of Brighton, Ben White is imminently close to securing a move to Arsenal. As a result, the Gunners are set to provide a fee of £50 million for the player to Brighton, using which they intend to secure a move for the Frenchman.

Celtic are aware of the market value of the player and will demand a decent price for the player. They have already made it clear in the past by rejecting offers for the player. Premier League side Leicester City had an interest in Edouard but they weren’t able to meet the financial demands of Celtic. The striker would be a big miss for the club. He has scored 83 goals in 169 games for Celtic, and his goal contributions have been quite the differentiating factor in numerous matches over the years.
Meanwhile, the Norwegian defender Kristoffer Ajer has completed a move to English side Brentford ahead of a £13.5m transfer from Celtic. If this one goes through as well, Celtic will have managed to secure £30m in transfer fees for players who could have left on a free transfer at the end of the season. This represent some excellent business for any club which they can use to invest in areas of the squad that need urgent reinforcements.

Further Possible Additions for Celtic :
Celtic have agreed to a £4.5 million deal for Swedish international Carl Starfelt from the Russian side Rubin Kazan. The deal was announced right after the club announced the departure of Norwegian defender Kristoffer Ajer making him their second defensive acquisition after signing of former Sheffield Wednesday defender Osaze Urhoghide.
Celtic have announced a deal to sign Japanese international Kyogo Furuhashi from Vissel Kobe. Ange Postecoglou is waiting for the completion of procedures regarding the work permit for the player before being able to integrate him into the squad.
The Hoops are tracking more options in the transfer window. Head coach Ange Postecoglou is keen to sign new players ahead of the season kick-off in Scotland. Celtic are looking at right-back options with Rennes’ pair Sacha Boey and Brandon Soppy. The latter has got more interest from the Serie A side Udinese and Premier League side Watford. Celtic are also keeping tabs and intend to make a move over the next week.
Ange Postecoglou is gearing up for the new season in Scotland. The Hoops are playing their pre-seasons against the top sides before the domestic action. But, they have got an important fixture in Europe. The Champions League qualifying second round fixture against FC Midtjylland on Tuesday night is the current priority for Celtic and a win would be of utmost importance for the Hoops.
It will be the first major test for Postecoglou and he needs to do everything he can to take Celtic to the next qualifying round for the Champions League group stages.
