Report: Joe Aribo ‘Attracting Interest’ From Unknown Premier League club

Just after Joe Aribo missed out on the pre-season friendly against Arsenal, there have been numerous reports stating that the player has been on the radar of an unknown Premier League club, which hinted a move to Premier League might be on the table. The midfielder is the key player at Ibrox under Steven Gerrard and was instrumental last season in winning the league for the Rangers.

The player has cemented himself as a key player to the squad, and after making a move from Charlton back in 2020, the player since then has gone on to score 10 goals and 11 assists in the Premiership. Rangers would like to keep a hold on their key players, but it seems like a daunting task for Rangers as of now. With players being linked with a move away from Ibrox.

After star striker Alfredo Morelos, Joe Aribo to has been linked with a move away from Ibrox. The 25-year old is said to have picked up a knock in the training which saw him miss out on the friendly against Arsenal. Though this has put reports on their toes with fresh reports suggest he is being monitored by an unknown Premier League club.

Joe Aribo in Rangers Transfer Latest

This situation does not help the Rangers manager Steven Gerrard who is keen to have his player to have important minutes ahead of the start of the League campaign and the Champions League qualifiers, Though they have brought in new signings this season in form of Fashion Sakala, Nnamdi Ofoborh & John Lundstram, they somehow are facing difficulties in keeping hold of their key players.

According to Allsoccernigeria the 25-year old is now said to be the subject of ‘concrete’ Premier League interest, though so far the club linked with the player has not been named, it’s highly unlikely the player will be making a move away from Ibrox.

With a complicated season ahead and Aribo just arriving in 2019, Rangers under Gerrard are hoping to retain their best players before the transfer window closes. At least this is what the fans and the supporters are hoping for.

However, with increasing interest coming in from the Premier League and abroad, Rangers’s Scottish Premiership winning players are in high demand this summer and some seem likely to depart before the new season starts on July 31. Players like Kamara, Morelos, Ryan Kent now Aribo are all being linked with moves out of Ibrox this summer and to be able to retain their services while adding players like Ofoborh and Lundstram would be quite an achievement for Gerrard and co.

As things stand, key players from the Rangers squad are set to miss out on the Champions League qualifiers against either Malmö FF or HJK Helsinki. This includes players like Glen Kamara, Ryan Jack and Nnamdi Ofoborh, and Steven Gerrard would not want Joe Aribo missing out as well.

It looks like Rangers are set to have a nervy end to the transfer window and could see a few key members of the squad making their move away from Ibrox.

Talking of Aribo, as a midfielder he has been impressive, not only he is a solid physical presence in the midfield but he also is good on the ball. He often slots in the no 10 role and is always on the lookout for goals and key passes. Spending his last two seasons on a high, the interest from clubs to make a move for him should not come as to surprise for the club and the supporters. While the interesting thing will be what the player decides to do if an concrete offer from the Premier League materialises for him, chances are he is to stay in the Premiership under the guidance of Steven Gerrard and compete for more trophies next season. The allure of playing Champions League football representing Rangers is something massive and Aribo should be smart enough to realise that.
